Are you tired of computer generated, mixed and fiddled with music? Have you almost forgotten what it’s like to listen to some proper progressive heavy rock music? Well, look no more, because Ocean Mind are here and ready to blast your speakers ...and our ear drums too! This Athenian band seems to have learned all the right lessons from famous predecessors such as the Doors, AC/DC, Black Sabbath…and I’d even throw in some ZZ-Top in the mix too, before making their way over to LA.

Listening to their brand new EP, you get started with “Howl”. As the song progresses you cannot possibly escape imagining ...some leather-dressed, stud-pinched, fully-bearded,  tattooed and pierced Harley Davidson bikers having a sip of beer in some smoke-infested, seedy bar, in the middle of nowhere, with a gorgeous looking young female dancing up and down the bar pole somewhere in the background. How can you? And now tell me, how can you not get up that pole yourself and do the deeds if you’re a female listening to this!? A powerful song with all the addictive potentials of a big hit sets you off right there. 

“2 ready 2 live 2 ready to die” comes in, and you can still follow those bikers driving down the endless straight highways right through Arizona’s deserts. Are you still with me? Put on “Scissor Tongue” next, with its clear-cut guitar sounds, and the bikers are done road tripping for the day, all checked in their motel rooms with their ladies…you can imagine the rest.

Tomorrow will be a new day In Mexico and if Ocean Mind keep it up this way they’ll be known worldwide. With their very well defined sound, watch this space... It seems that Rock is not dead after all! They have just brought it back from the dead!
